Round lidded birch bark box; dense brown and white quillwork with 5-point star on the lid, diamonds on side.

1. Form: Lid quillwork depicts a large 5-point star. The center pentagon is made of white quills, and the points turn into brown. Star is outlined and encircled in white. The outside open space between the points has a crosshatch quill pattern
The side has an upper and lower band of the same pattern. 7 quills are lined up vertically and bunched together in the middle. Between these are crosshatched diamonds.
The inside is lined with bark to hide the quill ends.

2. Material and Color:
Birch bark - medium brown (R154 G102 B29)
Sweet grass - faded yellow (R235 G214 B186)
Cotton thread - black
Quill - white and brown (R77 G48 B0)

3. Construction: Bark was cut, bent and stitched into shape

4. Decoration: Quillwork on lid and sides, sweet grass wrapped around all edges.

5. Skill/Care: Very well and neatly made

6. Condition: Negligible wear - Very Good.
