An account of the resource
Light brown wooden stickball stick. Stick is formed from two pieces of Cyprus wood fastened together with deer hide cord, and warped at the top to form a hoop for a net. The handles are the longest part of the stickball stick at 24â€L. The net is 6†W, and 9â€L. The net of the stick is made from deer hide cord fastened through holes in the loop and knotted in the middle. The net is different with larger spaces between the hide than the Cherokee or other Southeastern tribes style. This is because Seminole stickball balls are wider and easier to catch with a larger net. This is exclusive of the Florida Seminole. Stick is in good condition with damage to the hoop.

Multicolored strip of glass, seed beads with bead loop at one end and a plastic button at the other end. The strip is eleven beads wide for most of its length, tapering over four rows at each end and to three beads wide. A single strand of dark red beads forms a loop 3/4†long on one end, which appears to be strung onto the ends of the same, white thread used to weave the strip. The body of the strip is loom woven beadwork with a background color of bright yellow. There is a red and white thunderbird design in the center, flanked on both sides with wide arrows composed of black, white, and brightened beads. that point away from the bird. These two arrows are framed by two more arrows that point towards the center of the strip and are composed of bright red, green, black, and white beads. The two sides are symmetrical, except the left wing of the bird has a single line of black beads that extends from the back end of the arrow to the center of the bird. The head of the bird faces to the right. At the end of the strip, opposite the dark red loop a bright green plastic button is sewn on with white thread. This button and loop could be used to fasten the strip around something. It appears to be the right size to be an adult bracelet. The design is the same on both sides of the piece, other than the button being sewn on the top side.

Description
An account of the resource
Multicolored strip of glass seed beads with bead loop at one end and a plastic button at the other end. The strip is eleven beads wide for most of it’s length, tapering to over four rows at each end to three beads wide. A single strand of dark red beads forms a loop 3/4†on each end, which appears to be strung on to the ends of the same white thread used to weave the strip. The body of the strip is loom woven beadwork with a background color of orange. There is a green, red, and yellow thunderbird design in the center. The bird’s head is turned to the right. The bird is flanked on both sides with a fletched arrow design composed of black and yellow beads that point towards the bird. The design is symmetrical except for the turned bird head. At the end opposite the dark red loop a bright green plastic button is sewn on with white thread. This button and loop could be used to fasten the strip around something. It appears to be the right size to be an adult bracelet. The design appears to be the same on both sides of the piece, other than the button being sewn on the top side.

Tan, large, wooden spoon. Handle is bent at a slight angle 8 1/2†from the end and is about 1/2†wide. The handle is 1/2†thick at end and gently deepens to 1 1/4†thick where it connects to the bowl. The end of the handle ends in a straight edge. Some carving marks are visible on the handle, but are mostly smoothed, perhaps from use. The handle has four distinct rectangular sides. The bowl is 3 1/2†x 3 3/4†Wx2 3/4†D. The walls of the bowls are 1/8†thick at the rim. The exterior of the bowl is smoothly finished, but the interior is more rough. Carving marks are visible on all surfaces, but are relatively smoothed, perhaps from use. The bowl ends in a somewhat roughly cut flat edge where it flows into the handle. The bowl has a relatively round rim and comes to a gentle curve on the other side. The spoon is hand carved from one piece of swamp/bald cypress. It is lightweight for size. Often used for Softkee beverage. Spoon shows signs of age, use, and wear, including dark stains, superficial cracks in the wood, and signs of wear, such as smoothed, round edges, on the rim of the bowl and handle. In addition, a brown, rough, thumbprint sized stain near the crook of the handle may be evidence of dried adhesive or other applied substance.

Black cotton male child’s coat with yoke and long sleeves.

The garment is machine stitched, with black thread used for either the top spool or bobbin and bright pink thread used for the reverse. The full bottom is gathered and sewn to a shoulder yoke on both the front and back of the garment. The yoke is 3†long on the front and 2†long on the back. The collar is round and finished with a 1†wide strip of cloth sewn on the inside so that the raw edges of the seam are encased in the strip and top stitched in with the black thread visible on the outside of the garment. The sides of the yoke are attached to the sleeve and are topstitched with the bright pink thread visible. The sleeves are each constructed of two pieces of cloth. One is rectangular, folded over and sewn on one short end to the side of the yoke and full bottom and are gathered to form a ruffle on the other short end. This ruffle is secured with a double row stitching with the black thread visible. Under the arm a square piece of cloth has been folded diagonally and sewn to make a gusset. The bottom of the garment is finished with a double-folded hem, topstitched so that the pink thread is visible.

Viewed flat with the opening facing the viewer, the object is a T-shaped garment. The upright portion of the T corresponds to the portion of the object worn over the torso. The horizontal element in the T corresponds to the sleeves and shoulder coverings. The joint of the T corresponds to a horizontal rectangular yoke to which are attached the sleeves and the main body (ie. torso covering). The vertical portion of the T widens at the base of the T due to gathering of both the "front" and "back" at the rectangular yoke. Also attached to the yoke are sleeves. Each sleeve attaches to the body at the yoke and with a square gusset ....
